Interpol's New Song Is Bicoastal

If you thought Interpol's major-label debut would be a radical departure from their past two efforts, think again. First single 'The Heinrich Maneuver' finds the band sticking to its tried-and-true formula. In the song's first lines, frontman Paul Banks alludes to a bicoastal breakup, asking his former paramour, "How are things on the West Coast?"

'Our Love to Admire,' the band's third album, is due on July 10. Keep reading to listen to the official, non-radio-ripped album version.

Interpol, 'The Heinrich Maneuver'

Meanwhile, we caught up with the band in the California desert last week. Read what Interpol had to say about 'Our Love to Admire' and Coachella.

'Our Love to Admire' tracklisting
'Pioneer to the Falls'
'No I in Threesome'
'The Scale'
'The Heinrich Maneuver'
'Mammoth'
'Pace Is the Trick'
'All Fired Up'
'Rest My Chemistry'
'Who Do You Think'
'Wrecking Ball'
'The Lighthouse'

As the biggest Interpol fan I know, I feel compelled to share my thoughts on 'The Heinrich Maneuver,' a song I really thought might be inspired by the Chicago Bulls guard Kirk Heinrich ... until I realized that his last name is Hinrich. Hey, Paul Banks is sort of fratty, leave me alone.

I think the song is great and consider myself lucky that I honestly don't mind the sometimes moronically Banksian lyrics that infect roughly 67.3% of their songs. Does he really sing "You wear those shoes like a DOVE" at the beginning of this song? Who am I kidding? I love it.

I love Interpol. I think thier music and lyrics are so unique and interesting. They bring a great mood to me when I listen to them. They are soothing and at the same time a bit of rock and roll!!!

How can anyone call this song a 'masterpiece'? It's just interpol, and not amazing interpol at that. That word, 'masterpiece'... I do not think it means, what you think it means.

I was bored from the get go. Then it picked up and grabbed my attention again. Let's hope the album is closer to the second half of the song.
